International bio business Miltenyi Biotec has named Maryland as the new location for its North American headquarters.
The company is transferring its headquarters from California to Montgomery County, where it currently has a facility at 1201 Clopper Road in Gaithersburg.
Miltenyi Biotec plans to add 130 new full-time jobs, giving it a total of 300 employees in Maryland by the end of the year. There are currently more than three dozen job openings posted on the company's website related to its operations in Gaithersburg.
In recent years, Miltenyi Biotec has made several investments in the state. The company acquired both Lentigen Technology Inc. in Gaithersburg and Living Pharma, Inc. in Baltimore, which became part of the company's contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) business unit.
